The best music TV series in history, and this is probably the best episode. It's 1985 TV quality, but still sounds great. Tale a few minutes and listen to Was Not Was.

Testimonials
My favorite testimonial. I asked Edge for a recommendation for a new client and he wrote this-
To whom it may concern
John Harris has been the "go to" recording and mixing engineer for most live broadcast U2 concert events for many years.
John takes a leading role in creating the final mix and in achieving the desired sound on the principle instruments and voices.
With our approach there is a huge amount of different content to be incorporated, which necessitates a rigorous and highly organized methodology. My guitar system alone generates 10 separate inputs.
The reason we found ourselves gravitating to John over the years has been his ability to recreate the atomosphere, dimension, and dynamic impact of a live concert experience in a stereo mix under great pressure and in an efficient and reliable manner.
There are a number of engineers who can create a powerful "post produced" live concert music mix, but in the many years of working in a live broadcast context, no one has proved as skillful or reliable as John at getting a live mix that meets U2 band approval, mixing as he must do in real time.
In some other cases even with the option of a post production phase we have used John to record because we have the reassurance that the source elements and concert audience sources will be recorded to the highest possible quality.
For that reason John has mixed and recorded many of our most notable live concert performances Starting in the 1980's up to present day.
Although John usually works with traditional mobile recording studios with multi channel desks and outboard equipment I would have the confidence that he can apply his methodology to the latest computer based software systems and modern plug in effects technologies bringing to bear his vast experience of how to record and mix live events in real time.

A Life Of Music
Over the years, people have asked what kind of music shows I typically work on, and the answer to that question is best illustrated by the projects below. They represent the amazing diversity of music that I have been privileged to be a part of. From Lena Horne to Korn, Paul Winter to U2, Joan Baez to David Bowie.
These are a small percentage of the shows I've either recorded or mixed (these are just the ones that had cover art). I've been part of thousands of great shows that were live-radio, TV, streaming, or recordings that never became a release.
Many that you will see embody much more than one show. The Grammys, for example, represents 34 years of work. Others like Great Performances, Bonnaroo, CMA Awards, Spectacle, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Global Citizen, In Performance At The White House and Montreux Jazz Festival show a single image but represent many performances over many years.
It's been a great memory lane trip to gather all these. They call to mind unforgettable points in my life.
